Recently, I opened a document in "microsoft" word to modify it.
Instead of hearing "blank" for blank lines, I heard "paragraph mark".

How about taking a look at your paragraph options? I think one difference
that might account for some differences is if you have your paragraph
options set to generate an extra line between paragraphs, and you might not
have had it that way in Word 2003.

If you download Adobe Flash player with Firefox, to get rid of
the check marks, just uncheck the boxes that show up by pressing
the space bing. I had the same problem when I downloaded Firefox
and adobe flash player but I had to uninstall Firefox because it

The procedure is for Word 2010. It should work in a HTML file opened in
Word 2010 as long as the cursor is not positioned on a link, a field or
similar object. The procedure doesn't work in a browser because the
contextual menu gives different choices than in Word.

Wow! wow! and wow, Rick thanks for the tip. It took over 5 minutes for the old
ones to be deleted. I followed up with a total system backup. The new
compressed backup is 45 meg the previous total backup was 86 meg. I do believe
that the computer also booted a little faster as well.
