I have a slight problem regarding the JAWS speech feedback on my new
laptop. I have just installed a new copy of JAWS 14 however the speech
is very hollow sounding and has a slight echo... Has anyone come
across this issue before and know how to fix it? I suspect it is an

No it isn't affecting any other sounds, only JAWS output... I have
navigated to control pannel Sound and had a look around the play
back tab, but there doesn't seem to be anything useful/helpful there.
My laptop is a Levono ThinkPad and I'm just using the internal
soundcard which is a Realtek HP
I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop. Originally I found the sound of JAWS
and its synths (and other sounds) to be somewhat tinny. I was able to
find the Environment tab and to select HD sound, which made a lot of
difference.

I believe that, this close to the JAWS 15 release, if he bought JAWS14 now,
he would be entitled to receive JAWS 15 at final release. That is how it
use to work but I'm not absolutely positive if that is still the case.

JAWSkey is a generic term to describe the JAWS modifier key. If you're
using the desktop keyboard layout, it is the numpad insert key. If you're
using the laptop layout, it is the caps lock key. I don't know what it is

That's the point, when I opened it directly the compile didn't work. Only
when I opened the script manager first and then did file open did the
compile work. Just a strange oddity I suppose you could call it.

Well I just went to my JAWS 15 enu folder, selected a JSS file and pressed
enter to open it. It might just be my personal settings, but the JSS file
opened in Notepad instead of script manager. So of course I couldn't
compile it. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit.

Mine opened up in the script manager when I did it that way but the script
didn't compile like I said before.
You need to change your file associations, try opening a JSS file from
within the script manager. With luck that will fix that minor issue.

I just wanted to let All, know some Radio Shack repair computers and their
