Holger,
In answer to the question of disabling default Windows 10 apps, I certainly
could not improve upon the instructions provided by both Jim Flusche and
David Moore.

Jim,
You've been a blessing to this group and are deeply appreciated by me. From
my limited perspective, it appears that you and Mohamed Ali live by the same
philosophy ... he said that "Service to others is the rent we pay to God for
our time here on earth." Good luck in the journey ahead.

Dear Jim,
May you have the best of luck at your time of need? Let's hope you have a
speedy recovery and you will be back to us real quick.
Best wishes,

Hi Jaws Users list, this is Jim, I have just been diagnosed with bladder
cancer. I am going to do good to keep up with my own group for now. I regret
having to stop the OneDrive link for the Jaws Users group. Please understand
my condition. I am not feeling all that well. So I am going to have to
I have it set to automatically make changes without giving me a user

Hi,
When you press CTRL+I, you want to right arrow to privacy and press enter.
Then, down arrow to background apps and press enter. Now, tab to one and if
it is off, it will just say button. If it is on, it will say button checked.
Press the space bar to uncheck any that says checked. When you
just go to www.ninite.com. There you will do a Jaws find for vlc.
Then check the check box and click get installer. then run twice. If
you have firefox, save and run from downloads.

Does it also work with Win7? If so, where can I download it? I did a Google
search and came up only with Win7 32 bit. Does that matter since I have a 64
bit computer? Thanks.

Hi
If you're running Windows 7, 8 or 10, when you change anything in the
automatically start JAWS dialog, you should have gotten a pop-up from User
Account control. You have to choose yes in the User Account control dialog
to have those changes saved since they are in the Windows registry.
I figured as much it wasn't an absolute answer. I consider such things more
of a workaround.
Possibly somebody else has a better idea, let's just wait and see so to
speak.

I know exactly how the options dialogue works. And i already did that
a long time ago, but that isn't actually a solution to my problem.

I don't off hand have a suggestion so far as the logon screen is concerned,
but there is something you could try assuming you are not using a login
password on your system. Just put an icon in your startup folder and your
system will come up talking. It will take longer since this procedure is
