My external keyboard has been doing this stuff ever since it's been
connected to a Dell laptop using Win 8.1 and now Win 10 64 bit, version 1607
with JAWS latest build.
My keyboard does this whenever I perform an action that requires a
combination of the control & shift keys together

It is really best to work in print view when using Word. Keystrokes such as
Alt key with delete report the distance in inches between the cursor
position and the edge of the paper. As you tab you also hear the distance
from the left edge of the paper. When JAWS says that the cursor

When another view comes up, as sometimes happens, I press alt-control-p to

As for the find function, you're right, the escape key used to work. In word
