Hi Eric,
That is awesome. Did you think on adding connection to neural networks to
describe graphic content with no alt text similarly to which Windows 10
Narrator offers in Microsoft Edge?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, FS could add something similar as the feature on Windows 10 Narrator. At
least when used in Microsoft Edge, Windows 10 Narrator can send a picture with
no meaningful alternative text to Microsoft in order to get the description
(and perhaps text) based on a neural network, that is, artifici
I did go to the default settings, thanks very much.

Thanks very much for your info. I think mine is a bit different setup, but
this is helping, thanks.

Yeah, Windows 10 wants you to set all these things yourself it seems. It
doesn't always work properly when programmes (like Winamp for instance) try
to do it for you.
You should still uncheck the box in Adobe though, I think.

I would opt to change the default file settings in windows. I have had
experiences when I have checked the checkbox and have said yes to Adobe to

file it opened in edge. I have never had that happen on a machine where I

HI Judy.
Ah, no. qRead is for reading exclusively and you cannot edit pdf files using
this programme.
If the files are text and not images that you need to OCR, your best bet is
to use Adobe Acrobat or Reader, I think. PDF forms do, I think, need some

I already had that one on the list of things to get done this year. Hopefully
we auto detect when text appears inside graphics and can then let you know when
the virtual cursor is passing over a graphic with text and give you the
opportunity to have it read.

Can you fill out paperwork using that, since this is what I am needing to
do?
I can also try to print with Freedom Import Printer, and could have a

Also, remind me where I would go to find the file associations I need to
check.
Thanks loads.

Do you have Adobe reader? There is an option there to set which prevents pdf
files from opening in a browser. Last I checked, even though Windows
"prefers" if you set all associations within itself, this still plays nicely
with Windows 10. Also go to your default file associations and check to see
Hello,
I think I may have posted this awhile back, but I have received attachments
that, by default, want to open in Edge; I want them to open in my default
browser. Is there a way of preventing Edge from taking over? I have
Internet Explorer set as my default browser, yet the pdf attachment
It can sometimes. But the results are variable. I suspect most of these photos
are of too low quality to really decipher text. Usually I get some garbage
characters, at least, whereas a person's eyes and brain are more able to make
them out.

When is VFO going to make available the ability to read text on photos,
such as the ones in Facebook? That would be very nice and helpful.
