I Love it, you can scan direct to Microsoft Word and there is a screen shot
scanner, this is only in the pro version though I think.
You can right click a .PDF file and scan it direct in to Microsoft
Brilliant news, if you point it at a folder, can you ask it to play the mp3
files there in a random order?
I Stil use Winamp for this reason at the moment.

The only thing I found annoying was that if you install it, you have to
activvate it on the internet and they only seem to give you one activation
count although they are really good at resetting it if you contact them in the
case that you have to re-install the OS or change machines etc.
Press alt-t for tools, then arrow up to Webvisum submenu. Press enter. Arrow up
or down through the options. I believe "sound" something or other contains the
option to silence this clicking.

This sounds like the Webvisum add-on. I recalled going in and disabling some
settings as I only used it for the capcia stuff and didn't need the other
accessibility features. It may also depend on any other extensions you also
have running. NoScript can be pretty clicky too for example.

VLC is nothing like iTunes. It doesn't work in remotely the same way, I
think, although actually my knowledge of iTunes is quite sketchy. I've
always avoided it.
The way I do things, is that I have each artist in my music folder divided

The Abbyy scan results are very good in my case, but there are some set
up screens which are accessible but a bit fiddly to configure.
The most important thing though is it integrates with Word / Excel etc,
which Omnipage no longer does.
Worth the trouble in my opinion.

It does, yes. I generally only use it for videos, though. However you can
make playlists with VLC, import folders using the file explorer context
menu, etc. It pretty much plays any format you can think of, without the
need to download codecs.

I've been using Abbyy fine reader for a while now after the Omnipage
Ultimate release which I found to be less than ultimate.
Like Omnipage, A F R is a bit clunky in places, but for me it produces
much better results, particularly with tables.
