I have a folder called jfw for the other mailing list for jaws I'm
subscribed too.
When doing CTRL y, focusing on the jfw folder, it says how many emails I
have in there; however, when pressing enter to go into the fold

I just checked.
Here's what happened to me.
I upgraded, but jaws got all funky on me and causing issues, so I removed it
and reinstalled it.
I just checked now, and it appears I ended up using a key so now I am down
to 0!
The important thing however is that jaws and win 10 are best of friend
Any tips on how to find items in file explorer using windows 10?
For example the dbd drive, c drive, or what settings are best to use with
file explorer in windows 10 using jaws.
I always have to look for this pc to get to those areas but jaws is not
finding it, so I'm thinking there is some sort

Are you able to simplify the instructions from a keyboard perspective, lol.
What is this hamburger menu > Notebook > Settings for starters. I'm
interested to have an assistant for my laptop.

This will temporary turn speech off.
Rinse and repeat to turn back on.

Interesting, when it got to that window where it said express settings, how did
you get speech? I mean, I already updated, but just in case I upgrade my
daughters comp to windows 10 that would be helpful to know.

Aren't there shutdown exicutables on the jaws-users site?
For me, I press the start menu, tab to the power button option, press
spacebar, a context menu pops up and I arrow to shut down.
I do that after I remembered I have a shortcut to shutdown on the taskbar
and I just needed to press windows key
I had a dell inspiron and latitude, and it was the fn key with one of the
function keys that was the numlock.

If memory serves, after you press the first two letters, you can press CTRL
k, and all the matches will pop up and you can arrow to the name you'd like
and press enter to place that email contact in the to field.
