downloaded the jboss tools M2 build ontop of gallileo
ran into problems with maven dependencies and so went off and got some of those

currently my jboss tools for maven says 1.0.0.M2-N200907092133-H355
and my maven for wtp download is build 0.9.9.20090608135
This kinda starts okay but I

had to power of today and rebooted and re ran the launch and it comes up okay
not sure if my config on the windows/eclipse build had just got confused but i
know seem to have a basic 5.1 server startable.

you may just have a problem if your installing latest branch on genymede (3.4xx
lines)

just for info - i downloaded the jboss5.1-jdk6 zip as i am running
jvm 6...14 as my vm
i take it im supposed to download the jdk 6 and not the plain one if i want to
run the latest VM?

i suspect the latter - havnt tried to touch on the deploy descriptor yet -
i presume its a bug - is this planned to be fixed or do we have to live with it

I presume this is an issue with the AS then and not jboss tools. If i go
had this problem through many releases and dont understand the problem.
in jboss tools if I do an undeploy and deploy again of my EAR i get an error

I've just tried to move upto to seam 2.1.0 CR1.
I created a new seamruntime for jboss AS 5.0.0CR2.
I then created a basic seam web project and get a bucnh of problems
first the xxx-ds.xml file generated references the dtd and this just doesnt

started having a silly problem with eclipse/jboss tools and jboss 4.2 app server
I have seam project in eclipse - and it has an application.xml in the /meta-inf
dir
however when I deploy to the server i get the following error -
This is silly as the application.xml is in the eclipse

i cant find an xxx.ear file thats generated in my source tree project
eclipse+jboss tools seems to be doing an exploded directory deploy.
the application.xml is in my source tree - but isnt copied into the deployment

I have a seam EAR project that used to deploy - and has now stopped.
essentially its doing an exploded deploy (at least i cant find any .ear archive
in the source tree.
the EarContent/META-INF/application.xml file in the eclipse workspace ear
project, and all the code compiles.

I am using jboss tools in eclipse.
I create an application project and the builder adds a library to the build
path `JBOSS 4.2 runttime` in my case.
it has these two jars in it. However if i go into eclipse and edit this pre
defined library i'tll will impact all projects that use the eclipse
in fact eclipse wont let me edit this library (its not a user library)
where is the library defn maintained - is it in eclipse somewhere? is it JBOSS

reason for asking is i get silly problems with europa giving me errors on
first off - the data source - was struggling earlier with where names were
getting posted into the JNDI so i forced the name into the global space -
havent been back to play with this again - so its still there - so heres the
datasource defn as exported to the deploy dir

thats not all complete problem -
as the remote debugger reported problems with the transaction failure when
remote debugging into the server, i rewrote the removeLinks method in the local
application client using an application scoped EM.
that way i could run the debugger in local

I remember it couldnt hack java 1.6 which is my default so i ran it by hand
from the command line see trace
it does run - then go real slow with no output for a while and then keep going
: final time is 2m:20s:693ms

not sure how but things seem to have shifted along -
I had installed the mysql 5.04jar file - so went to mysql site and downloaded
the latest driver 5.07. removed the orld jar from default/lib and copied the
new one instead -
This seemed to leave me with one error not three - so I commented
its getting late now but I seem to have got it working. Changed several things
and now quite sure now which combo made it all work.
1. removed the 'jdbc/' prestring from the dataource, and persistence unit
seemto help alot in the end.

so nearly there.
went to site mentioned at download the
org.eclipse.jst.server.jboss.ejb3_1.5.0.v200705171400.jar file which turns out
to be a zip file. Heigh ho, i went into my eclipse plugins and created a dir
with the same name as the zip file. I then extracted the zip file into the
folks not sure whats going on .
downloaded the new 4.2 GA app server and unziped on my drive.
I run eclipse 3.2.2 with jboss ide (beta)
created a new server and pointed it at the new home directory for 4.2.
when i created a default dynamic web project within my eclipse and link to the
new

package together just for the embedded server in an accessible format.
in the end i spotted something on one ofthe seam pages that discusses deploying
on the ejb standalone. even better the seam distro ships with a
