David,
Thanks for putting this up on a server. Does anyone want to hazard a guess
as to when 1.5 will go final.

I'm having a problem extending the BaseJetspeedUser class to handle
additional fields that we need to add to the Turbine User table. Bottom
line, how do I go about accessing this custom object in a portlet? If I
cast the TurbineUser object returned by the method runData.getUser() to my
need to provide your own implementation of the UserManagement
class if your UnifocusUser class needs additional initialization.

OK, now I have another question on using my own User object. I can retrieve
data from my additional fields in my UnifocusUser class. But how do you
save a revised field value back to the database in the Turbine_user table?
I've tried the following two ways:

Dmitry,
I am not familair with Maven, so I may be incorrect on this. But Maven is
not an IDE from what I understand, it's more of a Project
Management/Collaboration tool. In fact, the Jetspeed 2.0 project has a way
of doing the build in Maven that will generate an Eclipse Project file for
you
Quick question to those working on the Jetspeed 2.0 project. Will Jetspeed
2.0 still utilize Turbine and Torque?

find another driver. But the client will receive a substantial discount if
he upgrades to version 3.0 of the net-direct driver and the VP would prefer
to stay with this vendor's driver if he can.
My thanks in advance for any advice, experience, or other words of wisdom.

Joe,
Yes, there is a workaround. You can do a search on bugzilla under the
Jetspeed project to see all the workarounds, including the latest for the
1.4 final, but we got Jetspeed working with Tomcat 4.1.29 by copying the
xalan.jar file (we downloaded version 2.5.1 from the web) into the
1.4?
Celeste,
Don't copy them move them... I fixed it that way.
Good luck

Mark,
The link you provided below for the source code still reflects 1.4b4.zip.
Will the source code be available sometime soon?
Thanks,

If I need to use Torque, other than the Torque documentation/website, does
anyone have any advice/web sites/example code to offer that deals with
paramertized stored procedures?
My thanks in advance for any advice/assistance.

I just tried installing the 1.4 war file into Tomcat 4.1.29. I had
previously gotten Jetspeed 1.4b4 working under Tomcat 4.1.27, after
following the recommended work around for the SAX parse error noted in
Bugzilla. I noticed that I am still getting the SAX parser error that was

I just went to the Jetspeed home page and noticed that the war file is now
named 1.4 not 1.4 b4. Is Jetspeed 1.4 now
.
Hope this clear your view about this.

This is correct. Jetspeed-2 uses pluto as the portlet container not
