Jason,
JFFNMS is faster in Linux, also, you will not be able to use the
Reachability interface (Pings from the NMS server to the hosts) because
we use fping.
Also syslog and tacacs integration will no be possible.

I was wondering if anyone has any info on the differences in running JFFNMS
on a Linux (Fedora) system vs. running JFFNMS on a Windows (2000 or 2003)
system. Is the performance similar or better on one system over another?
Are there any major road blocks to installing this on Windows 2000 or 20
You can get the vlan.dat by tftp'ing to the box and pulling the file from
the flash filesystem. I hope that helps.

Could you consider adding the backup the content of the vlan database of

Also, when I try and apt-get for the individual php4 packages listed below,
they also cant be found. Thanks again.

php supports SNMPv3 with the snmpv3_* functions, check the php site.
You will need to create a new poller using those functions.

Hi,
You have to show me more of the output of the poller.
The poller is ok, but the rrd backend is imporatant, because its the one
that stores the poller value in the RRD Files.
Did you added the field in the Interfce Types screen? you have to define
the RRDTool DS.

Hello,
I'm currently trying to create my own graphs. I use snmp_poller to get
the # of multicast packets. The poller gives this result:

Jason,
Then you will be ok, edit the engine/discovery/snmp_interfaces.inc.php
and change the IfDescr OID to .1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.1
You will have to do the same on
engine/pollers/snmp_verify_interface_number.php, chagne the ifDescr OID.
Hope that helps.

Hi
This box running JFFNMS is only going to be used for CATos devices, so what
would the proper OID be and where would this script be located? So, once I
have the snmp_interfaces script using the new OID to populate the Interface

Jason,
In 0.7.8 to be released in a few weeks, I've added this option.
But the problem you are having (repeated 224 times) it because the

Hi Jason,
The only way to do this, is change the OID in the snmp_interfaces
discovery script, but that will change it for all the hosts.
We need an exception system, that should handle the different Host
Types. So you could say, for CatOS, use a different OID for the
Interface Names.

Hi again,
Is there anyway to have the titles of the graphs changed to represent the
interface or something else, because as it stands now, all the graph titles
are the same "multimode fibre fast ethernet". Can I change this manually or
have JFFNMS use some other value to auto name these graphs. T
You are right, it is a catOS 6500. So there is no way of doing this.
Thanks for the reply. :)

Hi Aldo,
No, thats not the right way to do it.
Creating interfaces manually is not a good choice.
When you are in the Hosts screen, click on 'Manual Discovery' and then
add the interfaces you want from the list you will see.

And do this:
