Hi Eric,
The issue is that OSes and Java log ago converted to 64-bit numbers. Chrome
for some reason only known to Google has not been released as a 64-bit
application. Thus it is running in a sort of "emulation" mode. What this
means is the JavaApplet Plugin does not work with Chrome. My s
Pino,
The problem is that you are calling all the orbitals "iso1" in your commands.
Thus each time a button is clicked the visible orbital is replaced by the new
one. If you want the second button to draw a second orbital label it something
else, maybe "iso2". See the scripting documentation
Bob,
I'm definitely interested as this is part of what I was working towards for the
Sagemath stuff. Thanks for this.
The last part I would need is to leave behind an image generated by the Jmol
applet or JSmol, while relocating the Jmol applet or JSmol to a different div
and having it load
I think what I need is the Jmol._getWrapper or a lot of its contents. Any
thoughts? Unfortunately, that's all the time I can put in this weekend. Back
to grading...

Absolutely. Running Apache on

Thanks. As you can guess, I'm trying to get all the kinks worked out before I
embed this in the SAGEmath server package. Because the computational load on

The issue is that I am trying to avoid having to use any server-side services.
What happens is that with the double file extension .jmol.spt Safari and Chrome
try to call for server help. If I issue the command 'script
".jmol.spt"' in the HTML5 console I get an error about "unrecognized

I got Safari to load my all ascii script fine, by changing to a single
extension. I had .jmol.spt. This causes Safari to ask for server
assistance whether I use the script command for the applet call in the
appletinfo of "script .jmol.spt" or "load .jmol.spt". If I
remove the ".jmol" and jus
Hi,
It sounds like other people are not having trouble with this. I am trying to
generate simple pages that do not need AJAX services using JSmol. I've got a
simple script that executes some draw commands, an isosurface sphere command
and loads a pmesh file. Everything is on the server as AS
No that one is solved.
Thanks, for checking...
I'm also looking at the JQueryUI things you suggested for the more flexible
loading of JSmol...
How special is the JSmolJQuery.js? The place where I expect to have some
problems is implementing this in Sage which uses JQuery as well for the web

I think you are running afoul of Apple's decision to disable java applets after
some delay of not having used any. I suspect you have missed a place where you
have to turn applets back on, despite the information you've listed below.
Not having had any trouble with this I'm not sure where you s
Martin,
Actually, Jmol does not work well on most open source unixes at the moment,
because most are now defaulting to the IcedTea Plugin, which is still partially
broken. It appears from the chatter on the IcedTea bug list, that the next
release 7 may fix this. In general, I suggest people w
I am trying to explain how the select statement in 12.2.28, works to one of my
students and am confused by the following example.

This selects the carbons in a phenyl ring plus the C it is attached to.
Here's what has me confused. The atoms selected are:
#556,
I think Bob's list covers what we should be trying to deal with. Some comments.
1) I think we need to get organized. Pieces of this are already available. It
would be a waste to duplicate too much effort. Do we want a wiki repository

My family has an Ipad we use extensively. However, I mostly agree with Bob.
The Ipad/Tablet devices are good for consuming information created by others.
Thus I do think they will make significant inroads in the book market.
However, the fact that the Ipad makes it difficult to consume certa
Rolf,
Thank you! I'm not sure this is exactly equivalent, but all of this looks
useful in some way. I can definitely use the perl scripts.
Thanks,
