Farid,
what about also offering a variant of the icon that (almost) fits into a
square? The current icon design appears to be "wide screen", that is,
wider than tall. Would it be possible to also roughly get a square
appearance?
Best regards,
Harald

Hi,
I would have loved the new logo for 16.04 but I think this is too short. I
have a lot of stuff to check and prepare for the release

I like this one very much! It is compact, has the right format for an icon,
and is expressive. Good work!
Don't like the font however, the k looks like it is going to fall apart to
a l <, and the dot on the i is almost invisible.

Hi Sam,
(sorry for the delay, this got into the wrong mail folder)
your explanations are clear and I understand them. You stance isd
basically is similar in some way to how I see it, albeit my stance on
the film metaphor is less strict.
My impression is that the professional NLVE makers

You will have to go far to find another editor that allows you to edit in
as many formats, even the paid versions. (I almost said while mixing frame
rates, but there are still a few feature killer bugs open on that one)
Sooo, I also like the idea of loads of ideas, things, video, audio
Just one more thing when talking about logos:
As the leading professional open source NLE, the open nature of Kdenlive
could perhaps be a useful point of difference if we were to place it on the

Hi Harald, thanks for your input. For me the problem with the film strip is
not that it doesn't adequately represent 'moving image', of course you are
right, it is very effective for that.
My problem with it is that it doesn't come across as particularly
professional.
It is used a lot in

Hi Fa
Hi Farid,
I agree with the previous points about the dated iconography of the film
strip. The film strip must die!
I think it's a good starting point for a new look, stylistically the colours
and font are nice, though it's hard to imagine what a 16px or 48px icon
representation would look
Digital video is structured same as old films: a sequence of frames.
It may be old in cinema arts, but the user touches multiple sequences of
frames and waves, those all meshed with labels and lines.

hi jesse
what timing you have :)
yesterday i sent an email with a new logo proposal but for some reason it
needs moderation (probably because of the attachment.) so i opened in the
forum a new topic with the proposal. what do you think:

Hey all,
A short while back, there was a discussion about improving the Kdenlive
website. I offered to contribute my time to improve its design and
navigation. I was wondering who is managing the website, and
subsequently who to collaborate with in order to start working on it. :)
