Approx,. 9 3/4 to 10 inches vertically from bottom of engine pan to bottom of
collector joint.
Hard to measure without removing the lower cowling at this time.

This assumes you drill the bracket holes in both brackets at the same time (so
they are identical.) The brackets move to the rear of the spar and then swap
sides, in the nosewheel configuration

Gary,
I'm using 1100 lbs on my data plate for my KR2S.
It has a VW 2180. Empty weight is 740 lbs dry.
Right within the range suggested by Mark L.
Some are fLying closer to 1200 lbs in the US.
Centre of gravity position when loaded is a critical factor to maintaining
control .

Thanks Chris.
I notice this meter recommends using a narrow band O2 sensor instead of the
wide band type I was planning for.
What O2 sensor are you planning to use?

know where I might still buy one of these cheap analog type gauges
in the USA.
Most others I have seen are expensive ( $170 +) and use expensive O2 sensors.
Any help appreciated.

Joe,
Yes, that is exactly what I used . Vans RV6 nose scoop worked perfectly on the
KR factory cowl.
Cleco it in place and use epoxy and flow to bond it .
Fits the standard K round filter on the carb.

Gary,
Yes, that conclusion matches what I just posted.
(5 inches forward of the spar should work with either engine, and no spacers)
Plans length , plus 14 inches , aft of the spar.
Width, your choice , but wider by a few inches than stock will be a welcome
improvement you won't regret.

room.
Mine is stock width to fit the RR premolded parts ,although I regret not adding
2-3 inches in width.
Standard 2S tail surfaces per plans, no elevator balance weights . Flys great

There really isn't any other aircraft quality wood sources here in Canada these
days as wood is less popular than it once was.
I used Aircraft Spruce who has a CDN store at Brantford airport.

If you use some cotton flox in with the epoxy resin it will act like a rivet

Hi Stef,
I believe you are looking for lightweight filler for finishing the fibreglass
work?
My choice was "Super Fil " lightweight filler from Aircraft Spruce Supply in
the USA.
Sorry ! No experience with European suppliers of this stuff.
