A concern that I have about that is icing. I think that with all those very
small wires, it would be easy for it to ice over.

There is a time for building and a time for FLYING
We did the same, but sandwiched in between the screen's, was one of Mom's

In my younger days we used to put aluminum window screening sandwiched between
2 carburetor spacers to help atomize fuel. Theory was that the screen creates
micro vortexes and helps with a more even air/fuel mixture distribution to all
cylinders. We didn't have a dino machine to test this out,
I have an old 1835 Hapi engine and was having problems with uneven fuel
distribution to different cylinders as indicated by hot and cold egt
readings. I made a scaled down Cyclone Vortec generator of my own since
the one theirs(Cyclone Vortec) was too big to fit in my VW intake
manifold. It
Yes, if you have a carb with a choke on it, I would not use a primer either. I
have an Ellison and therefore must have a primer, or it won't start.

I removed my primer as I was only using the choke to start.

Well, my latest folly with intake manifold
Dan
I only have One choke on carby on the type 4, starts easy.
Sure that is not a mixture problem and not the manifolds?

Well, my latest folly with intake manifolds failed miserably. It started
quite easily, but refused to increase power past 2000 RPM. So, I'll chuck
that wad of cash in the trash and try something else. But, I did find out
that you can start your VW engine quite easily with the primer going to
