Diehl main gear legs for conventional and tri-gear configurations are NOT interchangeable. For the tri-gear you must use the tri-gear version. I have wasted a lot of time and money getting this interchangeable issue figured out. The metal castings that mount to the spar are interchangeable.

Check Craig's list for Columbus Ohio. The guy who just sold me some stuff has placed the landing gear including nose wheel wheels/tires brakes from the exp that he is parting out. Looks like a good deal. Could be wrong but I think he has it all listed for $500.00 He also has a complete

If it is Diehl gear, the mains will be composite & bolted to 2 big aluminum castings that attach to the spar. If it is Grove gear, the mains will be metal 'spring' legs like a Cessna. If it is Robinson-Rand gear, it will have these ginormous metal castings & will retract backwards into the wing.

There seems to have developed a mystic about flying a tail dragger. The truth of the matter is really that the moment the tail is up and the tail wheel leaves the ground, you are flying an airplane and it matters not where your wheels are, front or back. I believe that you will learn during
