There seems to be a bug in the tinydns leaf package for Bearing-uClibc
3.x. It doesn't save changes to the data.cdb file. I realize that the
package is designed to save changes to the raw data file only, not the
compiled version of it, but that doesn't work well for configurations

I'm trying to configure a new router using Bering-uClibc 3.1. I have
two nics that use the same driver 3c59x. Typing:
insmod 3c59x
loads the module, but only configures eth0. The output from insmod
seems to indicate it found two cards though. All the docs I've found
seem to say I need to se
Hi all,
I have a site with two Internet connections, each with it's own leaf
router. One of the routers is the default gateway and provides dns and
dhcp services, the other just provides external dns and port forwarding
for incoming email mainly. What I'd like to do is set something up so

Hi Michael,
This sounds like an issue with outdated rfc1918 rule in shorewall (maybe
seawall in Dachstein). Here's a link I found that does a good job of
explaining the issue:

I've created a Bering-uClibc_3.0.1 boot CD with USB thumb drive
support. I want to make the Save config, and Backup modules options in
the menu write their changes to a USB thumb drive. With the old backup
system, you could specify where to write changes. Is there a similar
interface for the
rovided in Debian Sarge. I'm not sure what the problem is beyond
that, but hopefully this lead to the solution.

I ran into problems getting the iso images to boot. I tried the latest
from the following link, and an older release (v3.0-beta3) that I'd
downloaded earlier.

Both gave me a boot failure at the init

Thanks Eric,
I forgot that mount was being provided by busybox. Thats probably
exactly the problem. :) You're right, I should be specifying the
filesystem type if it's important, but hey, I'm lazy :) The fstab
option is probably the best answer, assuming this is a limitation of
busybox. I
I'm not sure how mount detects what filesystem to use when it isn't
specified in fstab, but it would be very nice if it would detect vfat
instead of fat when I mount the usb thumb drive. I'm assuming it must
be possible because my system (Debian sarge) seems to detect the drive
as vfat. I kno

I've been fighting through a problem getting my openswan connections
working correctly under bering uclibc version 3.0 beta 3. The symptoms
of the problem are that I can bring up the vpn, but I can't access the
other side. I found that if I didn't load shorewall, then the problem
went away, so I
I just noticed after making my last post that bering 3.0 beta 2 is
already out! :) Sadly, it doesn't look like there is a usb image, and
there is no mention of the bug I found in the changes file. The link for
the usb image from this page is dead

Hi all,
I'm giving bering v3.0 beta 1 a spin, but ran into problems getting it
up and running. After a couple of days pulling my hair out while trying
various things, I isolated my problem to being a missing usb host
driver. The image I downloaded was this one:
