Great, I'll get some berets and badges made up - perhaps a cravat with
woggle would look good as well and we can start at the next away match we
can both get to, Millwall maybe?
Anyone else want to sign up?

Yeah, I think it was the sarcasm they couldn't handle. Being from new york
they were only used to being confronted by meth addicts with guns.
They tried them on the London Underground and they didn't last long there
either.
IIRC they caused more bother than they solved.

agreed, an excellent piece. I also liked the fact that Peter Beagrie made the

Aaron Cawley, 21, from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, pleaded guilty at Sheffield
Magistrates Court to assault and entering the field.
He was given a 16-week jail sentence and a five-year football banning order.
The court heard Cawley had been drinking heavily and had already breached two
4 months inside, more than likely released on licence in 2.
Not much detail has been released but I am assuming that the 4 months inside is
for the breach of the previous banning order rather than the assault.

Oh, no it isn't.
Where an order is imposed in addition to a sentence of immediate imprisonment,
the term of the must be between six and ten years.
In other cases, the term of the order must be between three and five years.

Why can't this guy be given a lifetime banning order? He's breached two
previous ones and assaulted a player on the field? What more does it take to be
banned from football grounds for life? It's amazing how lenient this is.

Pathetic.
Should have got at least 12 months, and a life ban from all football.
Tagged till the day he dies and forbidden from travelling when Leeds are
playing. The law, I'm afraid, is an ass.

It's a funny one, it would have been useful if the media had given us the exact
sentence pronouncement rather than a summary. This would have contained
information specific to each offence sentenced. We would have found out what he

Whilst it could be classed as assault, I have the same opinion as Ian, the
assault alone was not worth a 4 month tariff. In all likelihood, it was
probably a 6 month sentence minus the usual 1/3 reduction for early guilty plea.
It was a single push, no use of weapon, wasn't a sustained attack,
I don't condone what the stupid twat did at all, but far worse assaults
happen on the field, during games, between players all the time.
Having said that, given he seems to ignore his banning orders and has a
long history of football-related offending I think he got what he deserved.

But Matt, the comparison is the whole point. They are both within the same
offence guidelines which gives a max sentence of six months. The whole point
about sentencing is that you have to mentally group these things in order to

Mate, I was assaulted 4 years ago by a gang of mask wearing thugs at Wakey

I spent a week in hospital and narrowly avoided surgery to remove a haematoma

They were arrested but never charged.

Should these people be allowed out on the street any time this decade?
