I've seen people mention using hot glue for work holding in turned work. There
are a lot of different types of hot glue. What type of hold are we looking
for? Should I just use general purpose glue or do should I use the high temp
designed for wood? How do I get the hot glue off

I use hot glue for a lot of my legacy faceplate and flat work turning jobs.
I use the general glue sticks. a sharp chisel removes the glue nicely.I
normally use the glue on the back side of the part, so I cant tell you if it
can effect the finish or not.(I just do not know
