I would like to install a drive motor on my model 900. Does anyone have the
dimensions for the red mounting plate that attaches to the outside of the rail
leg? I called legacy but they don't have these parts anymore. Has anyone
fabricated their own parts...i.e. trip plates, mounts for the limit
Does anyone have a template for mount plate to mount drive gear motor on the
900?

Hello Everyone.
There is a small problem with this hole concept of going longer, that I
think that everyone has over looked.
Using 80/20 rail is a brilliant idea, using The Legacy rail is as
well, but the problem lies in the drive screw
, but it might be on the demo dvd.
I'll get a closer look this weekend.

The cost is real enough, and I imagine the lead screw will have a

Despite the additional shipping cost, remember the baseline is:

Hello Andy,
Yes, Grainger also carries bearings that work with the 80/20. On the
900 Conversion Kit, there's no need for bearing because the original
carriage will be used.
Yet, as one looks at an entry level machine, it those might come into
play. All of them seem pricey, more than $20 or so.

For the record, a $1K conversion kit to turn the 900 model into a 9

Reconversion means no problem with resale!!!

4 degrees are a lot. And if I recall correctly, your legs remove the
10 inch swing limit, making the new limit the diameter of the inner
rails or 11 inches.
Roughly 108 center to center max
4 degree taper

how about a $2.00 way??? Take the tailstock off...put it on a spacer on the
wall of your shop (so you can work the handle) Block the headstock legs or
