Template work on the Legacy (sadly) was not shown very much in any details.
They said it could be done, and showed you the finished product ,or while it
was working, but They/ Legacy , left a lot up to the user of there machine to
figure out all the little details of them-self's.

I do a similar thing tim on my revo I have made the rails longer and i just
push the carriage along with my body while using my hands to manuver the cross
slide

Are you talking about a handle that keeps pressure against the
template(y-axis)? Mike Pung suggested a bungi cord for holding the router to
the template, and it works pretty well.
