Marg,
It is possible for children to have two sets of parents, biological and
adoptive. Click on the Parents' Icon and you are given the option of
entering new parents.
If you go to the child's adoptive parents, right click on the child then

Marg:
This is rather simple to do in Legacy.
1) You enter the biological parents for each adopted child.
2) Next, enter adoptive parent(s) and mark the relationship to
father/mother as adopted. This way the child is linked to all parents. You
have the option to choose which set of
Is it possible to make a digital copy of a descendant report so that
it can be pasted into web based site such as Google Docs
Spreadsheets. Or at least a copy paste function for the whole
report. The only thing I seem to find is a printed report.

It's a doddle with Legacy, no programming knowledge needed. Have a play by
setting yourself as the start person in Family View then going to

Sorry, colloquial English English! It means something which is very very

Thank you, Randy, for a good laugh to start my day! :-)
As a Kiwi, I knew what Ron meant, and didn't even notice that he'd used
a colloquialism when I read his post. But when I saw your reply, I knew
exactly where to go to help you find the answer -
While selecting options for your Report, tick the button at right for
Text File or HTML File. The Preview button greys out, and you
can select Create. Save your new file to your Desktop.
In Google Documents, select Upload File and navigate to your new file..

Hello Ron,
Maybe you could set up a group msg board where we could pick
your brain. I would be very interested in learning how to create
a website but just do not have enough nerve to try it out. Seems
like there are plenty of us on this users group that are in that
situation. Since we are
There is another option - someone subscribe to GoToMeeting, and then there can
be a teaching session. This would be great for those that have a high speed
(broad band connection) and not a viable method for dialup. However, there is
another solution as well and that is to record the session and
Myrna,
That is an interesting suggestion. Two thoughts spring ti mind:
(1) I could put an illustrated blog on my Website on getting started with
the Legacy Create Web Pages function.
(2) Your suggestion about a message board. Again I could probably put this
on my site as well (although

That yahoo group sounds good to me.
I just need a place to ask the silly questions when I screw it
up. I know that all of this is part of Legacy but still - it
should be on a different board so people that are not interested
in web pages wont have to wade through them.
Thanks, Ron, for

Having said that, maybe a better way would be to open a Yahoo Group
specifically concerned with answering questions relating to Legacy Web
Pages. Would there be a demand for this? If so I would be happy to set one

As it has been said it's a doodle (lol) to make a digital copy with Legacy.
My question is: is it possible to edit that copy once it's made? That is,
can I add other pictures, change the wording of text and so on?

Hey, count me in. I would love to learn how to do that. I am new to all of
this. After a little research, I got lucky and picked the best software for
recording my family history. Thanks to this group for all the advise on how
to do it correctly. Getting the information out on the web is really

When I began my web site I had some specific goals.
1. Quick to load. I have a slow dial up, and figure others do as well.
2. Simple coding. I have seen bloated pages created by Word and other
programs
3. No ads. I am willing to pay the nominal cost for owning my own web site.
4. Good genealogy
I have a book that has several pedigree charts and descendant charts. There
were many families that immigrated from the same town my great-grandparents
were born. I am compiling information on the families.
Now for my challenge...
All of the individuals listed on the pedigree charts show in
Hello Carl and Legacy Users,
Your web site looks very nice. You have definitely put in a lot of
time and effort in to your web site. You set some good goals for
yourself. I have always tried to adhere to the Genealogical Standards
and Guidelines recommended by the National Genealogical Society
That's lovely!
