I have set up a registration event as you suggested, but on family view it
displays desc/date/ place/notes. I am using the GRO ref as the desc and
this looks odd.
is there a way of changing the order displayed?
I'm with you for a 7 field display.

If we expand the existing 5 fields in family view to 7 that might mean
that some major part of the existing 3 generations on the family view
would disappear, probably the parents. There is only so much real
estate available on your display.
We are happy to consider suggestions for new features.

Me as well. But I do agree with Brian's comment about the limited availability
of screen space to display things on. Me, I'd do away with the toolbar in favour
of 6 lines :-)

It seems to me that if one knows when a birth or death was registered, but
not when it actually happened, then the birth or death date should be
recorded with the 'Before' notation (one of the acceptable date formats). If
you do that, is it not adequate to keep the birth and death fields as-is on

Please don't mess with the basics of Family view. It's one of the things I like
best about Legacy vs. the competitors. It's three generation presentation (in a
vertical format!), with a separate marriage line, is perfect. If you compare it

Either you accidentally created it or you imported a gedcom that had
Elizabeth as an event.

Families for Android (or iPhone/iPad) will read your Legacy database.
