My Legacy home tab
usually works properly and notifies of an update.This time 439
didn't advise 454 was available. I heard about it through this list. I
then went back to 439. Re-started it; nothing. I tried the Updates
button/link; nothing.

Started up L8 on Vista again today. Still showing I had the latest build.
Had to go to legacy home page and do the download which asked me for my
email address and securtiy code before download would start. It also said
Users of L8 don't need to use this for the update as it can be automatic.
You can always click on the 'Updates heading to get the latest update
information and download from there, without going to the website.
I don't know what's going on with some people's computers. The update
showed up on my screen on my computer at home and I updated just fine
from there.

family file the window asking me to check for an update, as I hadn't
checked for 40 odd days, popped up and immediately worked as it should and
downloaded the new version.

I don't - and it's probably just numbers and not other information if
Sales keeps track.
It's a tough one to troubleshoot since plenty of people have been able
to update from the Legacy Home tab.
I would say to first look at security settings to make sure your
firewall lets Legacy check the

Do you have sources in the Master Source List? Go to View Master Lists to
double check - the Cite a Master Source is gray until a source is added.
If you have sources, what happens when you click to Add a New Source and
back out of it - does the Cite button then show active?

Sometimes, the Updates section on the Legacy Home tab doesn't reflect the
availability of a new update. One solution is to actually click on the Updates
