Either way Ron,
My implication is that renumbering RIN's is the best for MY use of the
database,
IN YOUR situation, I can see the trouble it would cause.
REnumbering RIN's just ensures there are no deleted id number rows and
allows for the best possible compacting of the database,

Jay,
Why do you renumber the RINs.
In over 24 years I have never renumbered my RINs. Indeed to do so would change
the URLs for all my pedigree web pages which uses them as the file name, hence
rendering useless any bookmarks made by visitors and totally messing up search
engine returns.
Sorry
Perhaps that is the problem. It is rather unfortunate as I do love Legacy
and the interface. I would rather go back to Version 7 which worked quickly
and smoothly. I don't even mind using the menu buttons if I have to. I have

Since the new release of Legacy 8 clicking does not work for me or is

I get the little menu if I click *anywhere* in the Family View screen.

To Cindy and Cathy: Clarifying--By info I mean those items below the

Right click brings up a context sensitive menu.
Left click on a person in the "parent" position opens the edit screen

Why right click and then have to click on edit?
Legacy 8 has less dependence on right click menus than the past.

Hi Sherry,
May I stick my nose in here for a minute and clarify what "info"
you're talking about? If you're talking about born, died, buried,
Thanks. As everything is updated and it's not a major annoyance I'll let it
be.

Which version of Legacy do you have? is it completely updated? If you
have v8, it should be 8.0.0.414 - if you don't have that build, please
update. Another thing to try, even
Yes, it's just that if I click directly on the name nothing happens.

Parents? Husb/wife? Child?
Do you get the right-click menu?
Right clicking on the husb or wife's *name* doesn't directly bring up
the Edit screen but should bring up a menu with several options, one
of which is the Edit option.
However if you right click on the info for the husband or wife, then
On a name in Family View.
