in Kentucky. Animap shows several counties for Kentucky in existence
before statehood in 1792. It starts with the creation of Kentucky County
VA in 1780 and records the division of that county into several others

"The Handybook for Genealogists" was the primary source for the county
information along with Kane's "American Counties" and numerous state
and county websites. Animap was consulted if there were still
questions about counties.
