I've checked the url, it's fine in a browser. I've also changed the url
to the xtra on MY server, and it works fine. I've put in a wrong
directory and it alerted 'problem with url, file not found', so it's not
that...
I get a 'problem reading file' when the url is set to the proper one on

Say, click on the button and go somewhere. The button is the navigation.
Interaction is when something occurs as the result of user interactions with
something.

This may be too obvious, but have you put the URL into the xtrainfo.txt
file? There are a lot of Shockwave-safe Xtras that aren't in that file,
like the Audio Xtra.

Macromedia had updated shockwave 8 a couple of weeks ago. Teh beatnik
mixer I built works with the newest plugin, but not the version 8 before
it (for some reason).

I haven't used Betanik--sorry (for shame--and me a musician!) I hope

I can't say for sure, but why not play with the object and embed tags and
alter anywhere where you can find version related info and see if it does
anything. Set the version to the latest cut something like 8.0 d204 or
something. This would be experimental but it might work.
