This is happening on shows that I've worked on months ago. The shows worked
fine on several computers when they were created. I don't get the message on
my authoring box. Now, some users get the

Oh, after the error the director file plays ok sometimes and other times
asks for the Xtras that I've embedded in the show on a movie per movie

Dave,
If I put the Xtras in a folder on the CDROM, instead of embedding them in
the projector will that solve this problem?
Thanks for your help!

That's another argument for the "Xtras" folder approach.

It's easy! I recently did this; I placed a bitmap in Powerpoint then
selected Actions in the animation window. It gave me a menu where I could
browse for an external application. I selected that and navigated to my
Director projector. When you play the slide-show in PowerPoint, the screen

I use virtual dub to convert mpeg-1 to AVI. I found it searching on the web

Hi,
This is my first post. I'm a graphic designer/illustrator and I've
built some basic director shows as CDRoms for my marketng group. Essentially
I've been giving them a non-linear interface: some form of contents menu
that has all the screens within the show so they can pick
