there is a redbook 'ibm server - z800' that describes the whole process.
in the linux chapter. are you trying to 'boot from cd' and the script
doesn't work. use this. or suse has a fix for this problem.

i had a problem with the 'boot-from-cd' procedure installing suse server
7, 2.4 kernel with a osa express card. the install script had a bug and i
had to use a work-around procedure. suse has a fix .

i am using the suse server 7, kernel 2.4.7
when i try to access the suse help system or the doc from the default web
page i get the following:

i checked
(document root is /opt/www/... but most is at /usr/local/httpd/htdocs.)
this looked okay. i tried changing the userid to root, httpd did not like
that and did not start.
do you if this is a Suse bug, setup problem? i did the base yast install
without changing anything.

i am still trying to get the OSAE card working. i have attempted all of
the suggestions i have received with no succes yet. i can only assume that
i am doing something wrong.
i was unable to add a new device via YAST. when i try to do the 'add
device' it blows me out of the menu. i
other operating systems to do so, and then update your Linux/390
parameters to match. Make sure you specify the portname in all upper case.

the card is shared. You may have to do some magic with a router to get it
