We are running reiserfsprogs 3.x.0k-pre8 of reiser. Is there a 2 gig file size limit?
If so, what can be done to get around the limit?

Mkreiserfs -v2 /dev/
The -v2 will call the version that has LFS.

1.2.6 and that solved the problem. I am not sure if
it's a compile option that suse used or what for the
original version 1.2.2. I just complied with the
default options.

Try dd if=/dev/zero of/ and see how big the file is when it fails. Be sure
to have at least 2 Gbytes of space.

The maximum size of a file depends on
a) Your kernel - 2.4.x support files larger than 2
Gbytes, 2.2.x don't.
b) libc - glibc 2.2 supports files larger than 2
Gbytes, 2.1
