line disconnecting then there are 2 possibilities i can see:

If you're having trouble connecting from the actual machine doing the
dialing, then this is likely not the problem.
Run "ifconfig". What are the M
, ppp0

Sounds reasonable. If that doesn't work, try dropping ppp0 to ~1300,
and ppp1 to ~1200. That's just a guesstimate - you can look up the
header sizes for each protocol and structure the MTUs such that no
packets need to be fragmented.

Stepping in a bit late on this thread, just a point of clarification:
Bezeq does not "turn off" PPTP, or "turn on" PPPoE for that matter,
at any time. Nor do they need to "support" these protocols in any way.
PPTP is spoken between your PC (or router) and the modem.
