The North/South Bridge combination names will change but ATA/IDE device
ID's are identical. This is how the features differ from one to the
other.
So your ATA-33 limited will report the same ID as an ATA-66.

Basically I have not gotten the time to add the extra DMA engine code to
handle ATAPI on these controllers in question. Yes they do have
different address locations and rules for doing DMA/ATA33/66/100 ATAPI.

I have a 95% solution that prevents that hang.
It invokes some other minor kernel bugs because of the hack, but it
recovers ad keeps on trucking.
I now have to fine tune the NASTY-ARSE-HACK and test for
possible corruption, but it looks like none to be found do date.

If anyone is suffering from the dreaded "dmaproc error 14: unsupported"
error and want to test a code that could get you out of that deadlock
please speak up.
Basically this is an Intel 440BX PIIX4 issues, but the solution is global
and should work for all cases.

There is a problem that it does not downgrade the IO if all you have is
iCRC errors. The threshold is 10 events without other errors and it
should skip you from ATA-66 to ATA-44. If you did not enable the tuning
aspect of the chipset then do so now.

and not
(drive->id->command_set_1 & 0x0400) word82
Because when bit 10 of word 85 is not set then clip or HPArea is not enabled.
