Screen doesnt refresh when I drag or scroll the mouse

Konqueror and drag the mouse it leaves trails of the icons border. Also when I scroll using the scroll wheel the text gets garbled. Basically its not repainting the screen for these two events. Any ideas as how to fix it? I would very much appreciate it. thanks in advance, Arun - To
