I'm using software raid and since a few developer kernel versions I have problems with
the multiple device driver;
now I describe the situation with the newest kernel test6 - messages I get from the
kernel:
1) sizeof(mdp_super_t) = 4096(I don't know wheter this belongs to md)
2) autodecting
Hi there,
Firstly, IANAKH (I am not a kernel-hacker), so please CC: everything to
linux-raid. And be gentle with me :)
I have been experimenting with RAID for some time, and found that the big
read-access slowdown between kernels 2.2.15 and 2.2.16 on RAID-1 mirrors
was because of the raw disk a
I've been wonder how this would work for a while.
I know that the Linux kernel auto-detects the SCSI devices on boots
and assigns them
/dev/sda to the first one
/dev/sdb to the second one ...
and so on.
Doesn't this put a kink in your plans if you remove a disk physically
and then restart the

Hmmm... "-p" what? there is supposed to follow a number (at least patch on
DEC OSF4.0 wan
I have found a raid patch on a machine in our net, which is:
raid0145-2110-2.2.14.patch
Having used patch under other OSs (BSD) I'm a bit puzzled why

Have U pached this kernel for the `new' md driver,
wich will work with raidtools v0.9

Why? I can't see the point in making 1 240Gb filesystem.

I'm running RH 6.1 and a 2.2.14 kernel from SCSI drives. Then I have
4x 60GB IDE disks which I want to format as a RAID0 array.
I performed the following steps:
1. created a 0xfd ID partition 1 on every drive
/dev/hda /dev/hdb /dev/hdc /dev/hdd:
Disk /dev/hda: 255 heads, 63 sectors, 7473 c
Hello,
I've run into a big problem.
I'm constructing a redundent filserver. Consisting of two computers.
After installing the stuff, compiling Kernel 2.4.0-test5 with Raid1.
I was ready 4 testing the stuff.
Got raid working nicly. The 1st test, powerdown, dissconnect a harddisk,
powerup
worked
