Well, I know it helped me and a few other folks.

Hi,
I finally got my Phison 5in1 card reader working with kernel 2.4.18.
However, I have a question (at the end of this all) regarding how the
device is attached into my system.
I had to make a patch to the kernel:
http://www.jaist.ac.jp/~fjt/src/mcrw-2.4.16.patch
After that the usb-storage is

Hi Jorg...
as I said to you, I got the following error when I tried to compile the src
that you sent to me:
# make
gcc -D__KERNEL__ -I//lib/modules/2.4.17/build/include -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes
-Wno-trigraphs -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -fno-strict-aliasing -fno-common -pipe
-mpreferred-stack-boun
How do you feel about kernel hacking (actually, minor adjusting)? The usb-storage
driver isn't recognizing your device and will have to be specifically informed of it's
presence by editing a header file. I'd suggest a google search for your device and
linux to see if some one else has sorted

Cool. My linksys cable modem works with it..

Hi USB-Kernel-Hackers!
I've just bought a USB-ATAPI-Adapter which I want to connect to my laptop so
that I can burn CDs with the ATAPI-Writer. Loading the module usb-storage
(from 2.4.18) the driver recognizes the device and registers the CD-Writer as
a SCSI-Device. Up to this point everything
Hello. I've been reading around both IrDA and USB sites - but can't find
much info on which USB IrDA dongles work under linux. Does anyone here
know what a good dongle is to purchase? What chips should I be asking
about? I can't afford to blow $80 on something that doesn't work right now

The motorola SB4100 is supported under linux. It is an experimental
driver, in order to use it you need to use the CDCEther module
as for the SB4100e, unless they changed the internal workings majorly
then I would imagine that it would work as well.

Does the SB4100 support Linux USB drivers?
Not at this time.
The linksys cable modem is supported
Hello folks.
I'm trying to get a USB flash memory key working on my GNU/Linux system. The
key is made by a Korean company at www.flashdrive.com, and I've verified that
it is working properly in Windows. I've also tested my USB support with a
mouse, and it works fine.
Basically, when I plug in
Hi Joerg and everybody of the list...
Ok, from http://www.emuit.com/webcam.html site I downloaded
usbvision-0.3.3-test1.tgz file (was it the correct version?); I read the
usbvision.txt and finally I did (after mark "Zoran/Nogatech USBVISION video
support", after cd /usr/src/linux/; make menucon
Hi,
which version of usbvision do you use? Did you edit the usbvision.h?
Please, send me the output of "cat /proc/bus/usb/devices" and the
corresponding part of your /var/log/messages.
Bye
