the new kernel ... the most recent kernel I try is FC 2.6.8-1.521smp.
For some reason, the new system does not "see" USB printer devi
I installed HP LasetJet 1000 printer to my RedHat 7.3
fresh installation. I use CUPS 1.1.14 .rpm, it's
working fine with HP LaserJet 4L via parallel port.
CUPS detected that usb printer on /dev/usb/lp0, and
installed properly.
But, if I print a test page, there was error :
usb-uhci.c: interrupt

I don't know if this will be your problem or not (output of
cat /proc/bus/usb/devices might explain if it is) but you might need the
tools at;
