I fixed the problem today, by accident. I had
mounting of drives improper. A Seniors moment.
Keeping this forreference though, & I should have
realized the proble. Just to many senior moments here.

I have been trying to get a xircom combo ether card to
load and go to the net. I have read & reread many times the howto.
This laptop had peanut linux running beatiful with this card. Now I
have eWorkstation 3.1.1 on the hard drive and cannot set up cad.

I like OO, but I have found it not to be very stable, when bringing in
M$ files. Not quite there yet. I want it there just like you. Start office is
as you say, but I can bring in M$ word stuff in, just does not look like the
word version on some other doc types away from text docs. Doing

to set the copy go to dos box main drop down menu, same one
we use in Linux/Unidx where close is at, except there is one for
edit. then all you need to do is go to receiving app and ^v, you are done.

Well , I found the - problem libxie.a was bad. Your last
suggestion pointed out a little more clearly or it just it me

This is a fresh install of eServer 3.1.1 on a hd. CL is the
only thing to work. X does not start DISPALY 0.0 is in use but
port 6k can not be used. Ihave tried a varied amount of things
suggested by others & all failed. Currently running at runlevel 3.
startx startxfce or any other fail

No, It had been working and started giving me problems about a month ago.
This weekend, I reinstalled the latest version of cups from tar & chkinstall. The
startup script says it started the damon and the status says not started. A check

I have been running ReiserFS on all boxes since ew 3.1/ 3.1.1,
& I have had no problem recovering systems. I would however
like to try xfs, but I have not really figured out how to install
with out a lot of work. I do have a 8 gig HDD with ESvr 3.1.1
which I will do kernel upgrade for iptab

I need to write a small proxy server. Where would i find docs on such.
I need this for a Linux programming class(advanced).

Well. installed eServer 3.1.1 on a system. At the kde startup
we get a blank screen & not release to a virtual consol. But
I can ssh over to it as root, and get in. The other way is
to set runlevel 3 boot and work in virtual console. Go figure
this out. The install went very nice, just noi deskt
