I just laughed when I read this, and some people may like it because it
shows a trend toward considering domain names to be owned by domain name
holders. But I fear it will reinforce the idea that you and your domain
name are "bescherrt" (i.e., there is one domain name divinely chosen for
you)

Well yes it is funny in several ways, but also serious in some as well.
As you MAY?? know, there have already been US DIstrict court
rulings determining that DN's indeed property. Some of those rulings
have seen some press coverage. Many have not.
