Something else that seems odd to me. If the hole is as big as it seems
wouldn't I see some kind of marine life in the water? I haven't seen any.
Maybe a large crack instead of a hole?

Not much if anything. That is why a fear this is a very big hole. The only
thing that I can think of is that the skeg ripped out and ripped a hole in the
hull when it did it.

40 years ago, when my Richardson cruiser was sinking at the dock, we rented a
2" pump that drew about 10 amps, so possibly 1.5 HP? It cleared the water in
about a half hour and the leak was obvious then.
Did your pump keep the water down at all?

That is a pretty big pump to get no result. That indicates that your
leak is quite large. You should be able to run the pump and throw some
dye in the water around your boat and located approximately where your
leak is.
Another method could be to buy a large tarp, place it around the

This is the one I bought and tried yesterday and it wasn't enough.

Rental companies should have high output electric or gas pumps available.
Harbor Freight may have one cheap enough to buy. Something with a 2" hose.
This should raise the boat, or you will see turbulence where the water is
entering. Once raised, you can swim around with a plastic grocery ba
So maybe...Get some waders, some plastic sheeting, rent a big pump. Start
pumping, sheet as much of the aft hull as possible and see if I get anywhere.

No tide here. Part of why I was thinking a waterbed mattress or something like
that to try to jack the hull up with air. I can't figure out any other way to
get any lift from the bottom.

I have on my I pad,
Weather bug, Wunder map, my radar pro ,Hi Def Radar, the Weather channel

After sitting here in Key Largo for three (yep 3) days watching pouring
rain, I can say without a doubt that Wunder Map has the best and most accurate

Hi, Vern,
That sucks, for sure.
As to the waterbed mattresses, yes, if you don't hole those in the same way
(assuming there's something there which caused a hole). Waterbeds are tough,
but not designed to resist puncture by dedicated force (spent 30+ years on
waterbeds ashore). Salvage crews
I need help. I have a 30' Iroquois Catamaran that is taking on water.
It's a 75 MKII. Previous owner had taken the berth out of the port hull so I
have full access with the board I used to hold the bed removed. Slip is really
shallow and with the lack of rain the boat was sitting on the botto
