Hi, I'm going to Santa Clara next week and landing at SF airport a little over a day before I need to be there. Since I'd rather spend those hours in a fun place (as opposed to Santa Clara), I've been thinking about staying one night in SF. Thing is, I don't know the place, and all that guides

So, since this list is pretty international, I guess the *has* to be someone here that knows SF, at least a bit, and that would be able to recommend a not too expensive but nice/fun/full-of-bars area in which to pick a hotel. Coincidence -- I was out there staying with friends last week.
