Along with all the stuff Jason said I would also recommend not server DHCP
out on your DSL line you provider might not like you very much (it might not
effect them but hey why find out) so
Start dhcp on just the 1 interface using the command line
Dhcpd ethX (1 or 0 or any number)
And then if y
You need to start dhcp on just 1 of the Ethernet adapters.
Do you have webmin??? (its really easy to do from there)
And if you start from a startup script in init.d its easy too
I think when you starting from the command prompt you just pass it some info

It depends on your distribution. I thought that all distros started
the display manager out of /etc/inittab until I used SuSE (7.2).
This distro starts it as a service in /etc/init.d/. So, one of
these places should be the right place to start xdm, but it depends
on your distribution

gdm uses its own configuration, while kdm has historically used the
existing configuration files for xdm. This may have changed in more
recent version of kdm, but you can try putting this scripting in the
file /etc/X11/xdm/Xsession and see if it works.

Sorry, I should have made myself clearer. I use a text login on the server,
but kdm needs to be running to allow LTSP clients to get the graphical
login. Originally, it was starting up all on its own, but now I have to run
