Hello,
I am currently using Mandrake Linux 8.2, Gnome 1.4 for my LTSP server. When
I boot my workstations, GUI login doesn't appear, only the X symbol for the
mouse pointer.
When I issue the command of:
# netstat -ap | grep xdmcp
nothing appears.
In my /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf under [xdm
That server address is correct. The client machine addresses are
129.1.6.150 & 129.1.6.151. These machines are at my work so I can't run
the ifconfig -a for you at the moment. This exact setup worked fine for
a week until I installed the Internet Connection sharing under Mandrake
8.2. I then disab
How should I specify a client specific calibration file for my
touchscreen in my lts.conf file ?
Something like
CalibrationFile = /'hostname'/touch.cal
and have
/opt/lts/i386/Host1/touch.cal
/opt/lts/i386/Host2/touch.cal
/opt/lts/i386/Host3/touch.cal

Ken,
The fact that 'netstat -anp | grep ":177"' shows a listening
process tells me that indeed Xdmcp was set to true.

Ken,
I see your server address is 129.1.6.103, is that actually
correct ?
What is the IP address of the workstation ?
try doing this command:
ifconfig -a
and attach the results for me to see.

I'm still getting the grey screen with the X and no login screen. It's
also kicking the server out of X and startx is not letting me back in, I
need to reboot the server to get back in. I'm including snips from my
lts.conf and a pipe of my netstat command that shows kdm listening to

Richard,
How about telling us what kind of video card you have ?
And, what have you specified in lts.conf for the XSERVER entry ?

Hi Luciano,
have a look on autofs, the linux automounter. For example I have mounted my
/home with the following line in auto.master
/home /etc/auto.home --timeout 60
and in /etc/auto.home
* -fstype=nfs,soft,intr,rsize=8192,wsize=8192,nosuid intraserv:/home/&
which does nothing else then mount
Hi,
I've just started looking at LTSP.. I'm excited about the concept, and I know that if
I can get a few working demos going (especially using some really grungy old PCs) I
will get management excited too.
However, I'm having awful trouble getting X to play nicely with the graphics card on
