Hi again guys…
I’ve managed to set up the rarpd

Thanks for the suggestion.
I am wondering however, that instead of booting from floppy, can I edit my BIOS
settings to check my PCMCIA slot for a compact flash memory card. Then, can I put the
floppy boot image from the wireless LTSP package, on the cf memory card and boot LTSP
that way? If a

What is required to compile BusyBox for LTSP? Obviously I can't just
link it against any old libc. I'd like to try 0.60.5 to see if it fixes
the inoperable shutdown/halt/poweroff.
Actually does anyone (Jim?) have a precompiled version of BusyBix 0.60.5
for LTSP 3.x?

Chuck,
There is no XF86Config-4 present in my test system;
/opt/ltsp/i386/XF86Config is the link to /tmpXF86Config.
As mentioned in my reply to John, I've been testing in runlevel 3. The error
"no devices detected" is output to the client screen. Errors are not being
logged to /var/log/XFree86.0.

Anselm,
Thanks for your patience, I should have documented what I have done up to
now.
I basically followed the instructions on

I installed LTSP yesterday, used all sections of the troubleshooting
chapter.
I can now log in to the remote workstation ok.
When I log out, the screen blinks and gives me a gray background with X.
Does this have anything to do with the line in inittab:
