Hi
I agree with Richard especially If you are concerned about your installed
LTSP system. Start planning and testing new 16.04 installation.
LTSP at least in 14.04 is not having all the upstream bug fixes and it
causes a lot of extra Work and issues to you.

The ltsp.org is simple, and that's a good thing. I think there are some
areas in the page (project also?) that need attention:
1. more attractivr success stories from users and not just from admins
2. news / development
3. support
4. available professional support
5. social networks

Hi
You meant you have custom client kernel? I think that all the things you
need should already be there when you install ltsp package and update the
client kernel initrd image?
If not you could manually check that overlayfs is there in
initramfs/modules (if your kernel supports it). You might ha
Hi
You did not mention your users or anything about how they use the client

Autlogin on 100 device sounds like a kiosk environment to me. And
preventing changes sounds like a read only filesystem. There is a screen
script in ltsp package called 'kiosk' that creates a temporary session f

Hi
Does Debian as a distro even have desktop manager in the base sources?
By default ltsp-build-client creates chroot for thin client. Now to build
fatclient in chroot you need configuration option. with Ubuntu LTSP you use

However with debian it is not available...

With ltsp-pnp client starts ldm login program. When you enter your login and

sshfs mounts ssh user (used for login) home directory. This process includes
many steps in user session init phase that are used in manners t

Hi
I like the idea (as from user perspective for now). Everything that
attracts more people in LTSP would help us all. i Didn't know that project
has so suddenly stagnated (at least during past 3 years).
+1 also for idea of informal support on "incidents".

This is not a LTSP client and image doesn't require a network connection.
This is designed for laptops that start the image locally. You can create
and use the same ltsp client chroot image on server for both localboot
clients (laptops) and ltsp fatclients. User is expecting the same image as
