after the command esddsp --server=192.168.0.XXX:16001 -v /usr/X11R6/bin/xmms ,
there is an error message:
xmms: Warning Couldn't find our player - plugin (1440) at the server!

I'm having the same problem.
there is something we have to understand: we need to make esd to "run on the
terminal", not in the server. the executable has to run in
/opt/ltsp/i386/etc/... but I don't get the way.

As I thought it was a KDE problem I tried Gnome an the results were the same ( the
sound started and crashed a few moments later ).
