The directions at Usenix maybe the source fo the problem. It
recommends making I think too many changes to NIS. Most Systems use
shadow password now, so try setting MERGE_PASSWD and merge group bacl
to true. Rerun make and she if that makes a difference.

Looks like it could be some kind of an issue then with specific
distros or perl versions. About a three weeks ago and last Wed. I
installed LTSP 4.1 on Slackware 9.1 servers and in both cases the
install failed to make the var --> /tmp/var symlink. I will try it on
a slackware 10.0 box and s
Evan,
LTSP-4.1 definately does create the 2 symlinks. I just tried it again,
to make sure, and it definately works fine.

Amit-
I bet teh problem is going to be a missing symlink. Do an 'ls -l'
in the /opt/ltsp/i386 directory it should look like this:
drwxr-xr-x2 root root 4096 Oct 27 16:39 bin/
drwxr-xr-x2 root root 4096 Jul 12 14:07 dev/
drwxr-xr-x6 root root 4096
Hi all,
I am stuck in SSH and NIS issues, after doing as many documents
suggested.
I am still not able to setup users to run any local app.
sometimes security messages are displayed for users
sometimes it asks for password three times.
Do i need to post any files for you to figure out the problem
