Hi Klaus,
I told you I had a problem similar to yours. After look in the list archives
I found that sometimes the rtl 8139too ethernet drive fails with some net
cards. I did change the ether card to another one and the problem disapeared.
I hope it helps you.

Hi Nikolaus,
Do you have the host names and the ip addresses of your clients in your
server's /etc/hosts file? Sometimes I experience nfs problems when I
forget to do this.
Hope it helps,
Dario.

Tinne,
We don't know 'exactly' when the rpm release for Suse 7.3
will be available.
I just got the Suse ISO images last week, and hopefully I will
get time in the next couple of weeks to pull it all together.

What you just need to do is:
1. Allow remote access kmd display manage. Do it using Yast2.
2. edit suse.sh to include "7.3" near "7.1" or just change 7.1 to 7.3 :) (two
places)
3. symlink suse.sh to suse-7.3.sh
and voila, that's all you need.
Good luck

I didn't know the archives were accessible again? Did SourceForge

7.3 works, search the archives. Jim will modify ltsp 3.0 in the next
few weeks so that it works out of the box.

Martin,
I am ashamed not having read the troubleshooting further to realize the
kdmrc-file.
Changing /etc/opt/kde2/share/config/kdm/kdmrc will do the job.
It works fine now.

Hi,
I am using SuSE 7.3 and it is running KDE, but not listing to the
xdmcp-port.
netstat -ap | grep xdmcp no answer.
In xdm-config the line:
! DisplayManger.requestPort: 0
is commented out and several reboots have been tried.
Which switch has to be turned on?
Thanks

Kai,
Thanks for the offer, but the point is, that ALL of the

Hi,
Jim asked for latest SuSE install files, which I found under:
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/7.3/suse
These are all the latest packages grouped by direktories in rpm-format. You
also need the content of the disk directory somewhere to start installation.
It is not very easy to install fro

In fact all the sample file are not copied where they should be.

I just installed Suse7.3 and I already have to modify some installation
script in order to try to get the dhcp.conf.sample...
All is running fine (I think) but I can't get any dhcp.conf.sample file
created.
I'll have a look tonight but if s.o. already solve this ?

That cannot be the solution because this entry is already available.
Here dhcpd.conf with the LTSP modifications therein:

Hi,
both dhcpd version , two stable and three rc , are included in SuSE 7.3.
You just have to change the DAEMON_BIN variable in /etc/rc.d/dhcpd into
DAEMON_BIN=/usr/sbin/dhcpd-2.
That's the way i did after different trouble with dhcpd 3.0.
good luck,

Try putting this line in your dhcpd.conf file:

if that doesn't work try __
ddns-update-style none;
remember to look at /var/log/messages for errors
