Check the setting is in /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf. Look for xdmcp stanza
and make sure Enable=true (or =1). If you are using xdm or kdm then
search the appropriate conf file for the equivelent. If anybody is using
Mandrake 8.1 the config file is /usr/share/config/kdm/kdmrc.
