Hi Andre,
I just tried it out and ignored Yast's complaint. It seems to works now,
so I guess I was successful in principle: As far as I can see, the 10
MBit terminals have a connection to nfs, and 100 MBit is running anyway.
However, whenever I come to the software installation module, Yast

Hi Andre,
I had the same problem with SuSE9.0 (kernel2.4) and the kernel
nfs-server daemon. After switching to the userspace nfs-server-daemon
the problem was gone (remove "nfs-utils", install "nfs-server").
Would be great if it was that easy. I've heard of this workaround from
somewhere else, too

Yes, isn't it strange? Some switches seem to steel some information out
of the packets transmitted from slower cards - or they just do not
convert them properly.

Of course, I would be happier with 100 mbps cards and hubs on all
clients but it would be too costly at the moment to upgrade everything

Hi Kalev,
What kernel is your server running?
2.6 :-)
correctly. I managed to fix it by replacing the switch (it is interesting
to note the the same switch has worked correctly since in a different
environment without NFS).
Yes, everything else works fine. It seems to be a problem of the nfs

Hi all,
This is a problem I read about a lot in the forums but nobody seems to
have found a solution yet. I could limit the problem to a few items and
now I am looking for an idea how to compensate it.
