Hi!
A friend of mine, recently bought a Acer with Intel Celeron N2840...
He would switch to Linux (Firs Time <3) and we have incredible issues.
His intention was to install Lubuntu 16.04 on it, but after the
installation, reboot and poweroff don't work.
I found this processor at openbenchmarking.

I'm sorry but I could try this command only few hours ago on my
friend's laptop.

Hi you might initially try adding nomodeset to the boot parameters
It seems your particular computer does have certain issues with this
shutdown/suspend thing

pci=noacpi didn't do the trick too, sigh. :-(
Any other suggestions?
Maybe somethimg to do with r8169 driver which seem to stop shutdown process?

I suppose you could run
apt-cache policy r8169-dkms
just to double check you have it i

found either. How is it called?

What distribution are you running?
16.04 or 14.04?
I am on 16.04 and I have it.
OK it is already installed sorry, I didn't type correctly the first time...
am I the only person in the world who can't shutdown computer correctly? Maybe
is it a Celeron 2840 issue?
Incredible... with Windows 7 stock, the only things it did correctly was power
off.
