I've done everything I can think of, from playing wiht the document
setup, to \vspacing, but I can't get rid of the 1" margin at the top of
the page. My letterhead should be printing as close as the printer can
handle to the top, but I can't override latex.

OK. Here's a version 0.1 of a translation effort page. When it gets put up,
the devel.lyx.org index.php would have a link to it instead of the list in
the "I speak English but I write..." section.
I'm not entirely sure that I accurately described what each sort of thing
(.po, .kmap etc.) does, so
Congratulations to Ludek Brukner on the Czech tutorial translation. Ludek,
if you don't mind, we could link to your page from the devel.lyx.org page.

OK. I redid splash.lyx with v1.0 (I was in Salt Lake City for a week w/ an
old version, sorry.)
Hopefully, everyone will be happy with it now. And if they're not, I don't
care (well it *is* friday---I saw an inappropriate amount of serious, useful
discussion on the TODO thread today).

I think I sent this in a few weeks ago, but maybe I forgot to. Anyway, it's
a new version of index.html. The first two paragraphs are changed, since
they use the ancient 0.10 description of LyX. The LGT is placed on top to be
more obvious. More features are mentioned on the home page...
Anyway, h

Neither of these passwords work for me, I just get an 'authorization

The best C++ book I have read recently is
"Generic programming and the STL" by Matthew H. Austern.
It covers the STL in much more detail and depth than the
one by Musser. However, if you are new to the STL, I can
recommend the Musser one.
I agree that the design pattern book is good too.

(teTeX 0.9, from the Debian dist), I've run across a problem
when using the book class with fancy headers.

It seems that the revised edition of this book is named "C++ for Real
Programmers". BTW this guy is a "senior program
I have one more feature that I'd really like to see in 1.0.1, and that
is paragraph local spacing. WE never came around to do that, but KLyX
has it and we should. I think we should be able to nick the code from
KLyX. Unfortunately I don't have the time to do this myself.
So if you really want 1.

The InsetFigure in LyX 1.0.x, with the use of a gs (ghostscript)
process writing directly on the X window has shown to complicated and
hard to debug. It has been ridden by stuck processes.
Because of this we will need a rewrite of the graphics support in LyX
1.1.x.
As we know LaTeX can only use
